Hey. Whey protein itself is very low in carbohydrates and low GI so won’t screw with your blood sugar levels drastically. Working out is good for diabetes type 2 as I’m sure you already know, and yes, whey protein is safe to take – but you must make absolutely sure that you choose a whey protein brand which contains minimal sugars and carbohydrates; so it will likely be an isolate you will need to use. Of course, the higher the purity of the whey (less carbohydrates, etc.) the higher the price.
